The Collaborative Process
Our education modules are designed to serve as a product that drives the collaborative process between scientists and educators. The process of module development acts as a unifying tool through which all team members can contribute on an equal basis. The science content comes from the scientist and graduate student, while the interpretation comes from the teacher and undergraduate student, creating a two-way learning experience.

Mechanism for Dissemination
The modules present key concepts from Scientist-Educator Partnership team research in an interactive, web-based format. Modules include a series of content web pages containing graphics, interactive demonstrations, and videos, as well science lesson plans developed by the teacher and aligned with National Science Education Standards. Easily accessible and ready for classroom implementation, these media-rich resources serve as a mechanism for disseminating the scientific knowledge gained from Scientific Educator Partnership team research.
In effort to maximize dissemination of the content presented by the modules, we host several implementation workshops for teachers. The workshops focus on building teacher content knowledge in coastal ocean sciences and on demonstrating, through hands-on activities, ideas for implementing module content and lesson plans in the classroom. Teachers report success in utilizing the modules to teach ocean science concepts, and several teachers have presented about their experiences in local education conferences.
